Six months ago I went on a first date.

I told my mom that I was going to marry him after our second date.  Maybe a month in, I told him within some mangled, rushed explanation that I knew this sounded crazy and that he's probably be freaked out which I understood but I really had to say that I wanted to marry him someday, which could be in the future but I just had to finally say it.  To my surprise, he smiled and agreed that he felt the same.

And now we're here.  A strange trip, indeed.  And, we're only beginning.

Thank you all so much for all the well wishes.  I'm smitten beyond belief with this Mav guy.  He finishes my sentences, and catches my obscure musical references.  He treats me as his equal, and loves me despite my weird habits and tendencies.  And, I'm so happy that everyone supports us in this decision.

Also: Weird stories abound around here. I'm not sure we ever did have a date, at least not before we got engaged, which is sort of ass-backwards.
