Six months ago I went on a first date.
Mar. 21st, 2007 10:54 pmI told my mom that I was going to marry him after our second date. Maybe a month in, I told him within some mangled, rushed explanation that I knew this sounded crazy and that he's probably be freaked out which I understood but I really had to say that I wanted to marry him someday, which could be in the future but I just had to finally say it. To my surprise, he smiled and agreed that he felt the same.
And now we're here. A strange trip, indeed. And, we're only beginning.

Thank you all so much for all the well wishes. I'm smitten beyond belief with this Mav guy. He finishes my sentences, and catches my obscure musical references. He treats me as his equal, and loves me despite my weird habits and tendencies. And, I'm so happy that everyone supports us in this decision.

Jan. 25th, 2007 02:36 pmAs I sit here at work on hold, I hear all sorts of older music that I think I have never heard before, until it comes to the hook. Then I realize that it's been sampled in some recent song.
Like the song Nappy Roots Day by Nappy Roots apparently features a couple of samples from Holiday by The Bee Gees.
Which is interesting enough, but it brings about a new fear. 15 years from now, are people going to be sampling things from New Kids on the Block?
Preface: That much money will not be spent often for Valentines Day. However, since we didn't exchange Christmas gifts, and since we have almost entirely stopped eating out (which from my calculations today is saving me about 400!! bucks a month), I decided I could afford it.
There may or may not be another factor at play, but that shall remain undiscussed at the risk of letting cats out of bags.
Speaking of cats, Saints Row is the cat's pj's! Now, I just need to wrestle it away from Mike...
By the way, Thug Mike is seriously creepy. I'll have to find a way to post a picture of it on here.

Related: I severely dislike calling a wife to obtain contact information for an ex-wife, who is still listed as a beneficiary.

aor and I are, in theory at least, cleaning today. Laundry is almost totally done, but the rest of the junk (i.e. empty bottles, a pizza box, and random shoes) have yet to migrate to their proper homes. The television proves distracting.
Wait. Gene Simmons had a reality show? Shudder.
In other news, the #1 beer in the world was quite tasty, but not worth how much it cost.
